Our Story
The idea for skitripsjapan.com was born out of a realization that while Japan’s ski resorts cater well to Australians and customers from Asia, there were relatively few travel agents in North America equipped to assist travelers in planning their Japanese ski getaways. Drawing on their years of experience running businesses in Japan, Mike and Greig saw an opportunity to fill this gap and help solve the problem.
Meet Mike
With over seven years of living in Hakuba, Japan, Mike is not just a resident—he’s an integral part of the local community.
As an active member of the business community, Mike has extensive experience running lodges, hotels, and restaurants in Japan. He is an avid skier and certified ski instructor. Mike understands the unique needs and challenges that travelers face when visiting Hakuba.
Mike has dedicated himself to promoting Hakuba through Events Hakuba, a website he founded to showcase the best of the region and provide valuable information for travelers. Mike also manages the Hakuba Travel Forum, a community of over 8000 Hakuba enthusiasts seeking advice and sharing tips for their adventures.
Meet Greig
Trained in the financial industry, Greig brings a wealth of expertise and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction to skitripsjapan.com. Greig’s meticulous attention to detail and customer-focused approach make him an invaluable asset to our team.
As the North American contact for our customers, Greig serves as a knowledgeable and capable point of contact, ensuring that all your questions are answered and needs are met before your trip. His deep understanding of the intricacies of travel planning and his commitment to providing exceptional service ensure that every traveler’s experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
Outside of the office, Greig is an avid snowboarder who has traveled extensively in Canada, Japan, and the U.S. He’s explored some of the world’s best ski resorts, gaining firsthand knowledge of what makes for an unforgettable snowboarding experience. His passion for the sport and his love for adventure shine through in everything he does, inspiring others to chase their own snow-covered dreams.
